The building block is bordered by Asemapäällikönkatu, Junailijanaukio, Junailijankatu and Sähköttäjänkatu in Itä-Pasila and consists of two attached buildings with a common two-storey parking garage that covers the entire block area. The building complex was finalized in 1974 and originally housed a health center and elderly care apartments.

The existing buildings have since served as office space and a dormitory for the homeless. Due to the poor condition of the buildings, the City of Helsinki had planned to demolish the block and replace it with new apartments.
Solwers Plc has presented the city with an alternative solution for the development of the block, where the building will be upcycled and expanded for office and residential use. When completed, the new premises will serve as offices for several of the Solwers Group companies.

The design work addresses the unique challenges of the block, including: the reuse of old buildings, structures and materials; adaptive reuse of underground parking spaces and roofs; and low floor-to-floor heights that do not comply with current apartment regulations.

The Solwers circular economy strategy is a new realisation model and example of coordination for the services needed by society, our aging building stock, and low-carbon building lifecycle management. The future potential for this approach is growing both in Finland and globally.

The project is a case study in circular economy thinking and endeavours to implement circular economy principles at all stages of the project, from the demolition of existing structures to the use of a renovated building, and finally to its demolition or recycling. The aim is to challenge the traditional values of property development and to create a competitive alternative to demolition.
